Another great day of Rugby for the Denville Falcon team. Instead of two full teams playing two games each, we had our 10 players play all four games on Saturday.

Michael P. and Stephen G. even helped out by playing for Mine Hill who were short some players. There were plenty of try’s and more importantly great defense and flag grabbing by the whole team and excellent passing on offense. It was good to see Tori and Brydon back from a broken foot and vacation respectfully.
Overall there was great play from those mentioned above as well as the rest of the Falcon team: MacKenzie, William, Thomas, Steve, Jess, and Joseph
Hawks 3 were short a few players but with help from Hawks 1 we fielded a good team and split the two games.
Game 1 was against Black River 2. A great game that went back and forth a number of times, unfortunately Denville lost to Black River in the last minute 33 -36.On hawks 3 team Alec Shea had 2 tries, Nick Errante had a try and conversion, Matias Pellegrino had a conversion. From the Hawks 1 team Ben Levitt had 2 tries and a conversion and Abrew Yensel had a conversion.
Game 2 was against Long Valley 3. We came out strong and stayed that way all game on both offense and especially on defense. We got a lot of good play on defense from player who normally don’t pull flags. We are very happy with that improvement. Deville won 63 -28.
Again it was a mixed team of Hawks 3 and Hawks 1. For Hawks 1 Mitias Pellegrino scored a try, Edward Loosemore scored his first try of the season and Nick errante scored 3 tries. Way to go hawks 3. From are friends from Hawk 1 Ben Levitt had another 2 tries and Andrew Yensel had a try as well as Dylan Chicarella.
What a Great Fourth of July!
Saturday saw the coaching debut of Coach Kara and Coach Amanda. The first game was a slow start with in results no different from previous weeks. After the first game, the coaches were inspired to make comments to pump up the team. They wanted movement, speed and no whining. With that in mind, Kara and Amanda gave their charges some instructions and the results were immediate. Although they still lost, they scored several tries and were actually winning at some point.
